There’s a pattern I see all the time, and I want to talk about it with you today, because it’s something that’s holding so many of you back.
Being “nice” vs. being “kind.”
You’ve probably been there… trying to please everyone around you, overgiving, and silencing yourself to keep the peace. It might look like “niceness,” but deep down, you feel drained, frustrated, and, frankly, unfulfilled.
Niceness is not the same as kindness.
Niceness is what keeps us trapped in people-pleasing, constantly seeking approval and avoiding conflict. But true kindness? That’s something entirely different.
It’s bold.
It’s honest.
It’s rooted in truth and compassion, just like Jesus showed us.
In this Decide to Heal podcast episode, I dive deep into this topic, one that has been stirring in my heart and showing up in my life and with my clients, time and time again.
I want to ask you today:
✨ Are you being “nice” because it feels safer, or are you being “kind” because it’s what’s best for you and for others?
✨ How many times have you said “yes” when you really wanted to say “no”?
✨ How often have you overgiven in relationships, whether at work, at home, or with friends?
If any of that resonates, I need you to hear this… Your niceness is blocking your growth.
I’ve lived it. I’ve been the one who avoided confrontation, who tiptoed around the truth, who put everyone else’s comfort before my own. But guess what? That didn’t lead me to peace, fulfillment, or growth, it led to burnout, resentment, and disconnection from God’s purpose for my life.
Here’s what you need to understand… niceness comes from fear. Fear of rejection, fear of conflict, fear of disappointing others.
But kindness? Kindness comes from a place of humility and authority. It’s rooted in love, but it speaks truth. It doesn’t shy away from the hard conversations.
This is exactly what I’m talking about in this episode. In it, I walk through:
✨ The difference between kindness and niceness (and why this shift matters).
✨ Why being “nice” is actually holding you back in your relationships and business.
✨ How emotional hijacking plays a part in our desire to be liked.
✨ The truth about Jesus’ kindness—and how we’re called to embody that same authority and compassion.

Now, I want to leave you with something to think about:
Kindness requires humility and authority.
It’s about having the courage to say the hard things with love, to set boundaries, to show up authentically, and to stop silencing yourself to protect everyone else’s comfort. When you step into true kindness, you’ll start making the impact you were meant to make.
If you’ve been struggling with this shift in your own life, or if you’re ready to take the next step in releasing the “niceness” and embracing true kindness, I want to help.
